book review

The premise of the book is quite interesting and the blurb from the book what drawn me to read this one. Furthermore, I've read her previous book - The Explorer and for that, I am so excited to read The Good Thieves. To put it briefly, The Good Thieves is about Vita who's from England took a boat with her mother to New York after received a letter from her grandpa. After knowing the truth about what happened to her grandpa, she makes a plan with a group of her friends she met in New York to attempts a heist to take back what belongs to her family.

I enjoy the beginning of the story which is about how she met all her friends and start making a plan. It was good that the author introduce us to all the characters of who is who and what is their expertise. Although, the pace kind of slow but I like it to get to know each of them. I mean, these kids are really amazing and brave.

Overall, it is really cool and fun following their journey but I can't hide the fact that I felt something is missing somewhere somehow and I'm holding on to - only naturally, liking it. Rest assured, I'm not saying it was bad, okay. So, please don't misunderstand my words. It was a fun and adventurous story following these groups of cool and brave children to get back their possessions. I admire their braveness especially Vita's character. Her determination is absolutely admirable. In short, I like the premise of the story, the characters, and the plot. Kinda wish there's a bit more action-adventure in the story. But it was a good story. For sure, I'll be waiting to read more books from the author. Katherine Rundell's writing is meticulously amazing.
